OUR CROSSLINES PANTRY

During 2007, St. John's Chapel UCC was represented each month, for a total of 12 days at Crosslines.  We served 508 families and 1,380 people with food.  The average day for our church was 42 families and 115 people.  In addition to donated food from church members, an average of $235.66 was spent each month on perishable food and additional needed items. Thank you to all who donated food and money to make this possible!

Our February Crosslines Day (second Tuesday) was canceled due to the ice storm.  Please       remember to bring food donations by Sunday, March 9, for our March Crosslines Day.  Some of the needed items are:

spaghetti sauce and spaghetti, peanut butter, jelly, soup, Ramen noodles, crackers, jello and pudding, dried beans, cornbread mix, canned luncheon loaf, tuna, pork 'n' beans, canned vegetables and fruit, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, and bags.

SUCCESSFUL WORKDAY

On February 9th we had our first church building workday.  I want to thank the following people; Becky Hebert and her husband Dean, Pete and Beverly  Graham, Mike Berger and Megan Flatbush, Karl and Jeanne Kruger, Lee and Judith Bartell and Tona Griggs.

We were able to caulk all the counters in the workroom, kitchen, women’s bathroom and Pastor’s restroom.  Several discolored ceiling tiles were replaced (unfortunately new areas of water damage occurred with the recent storms).  The wallpaper in both bathrooms was repaired and cabinets were cleaned in the workroom, kitchen and pastor’s kitchen.

I believe everyone had a good time sprucing up the place. We will have other workdays in the future that I hope people will also enjoy as we make the place shine.

We would like to thank all the people that contributed their time to help the Sausage     Supper serve more than 200 people.  Thanks must also be given to the servers from Boy Scout troop #174.  An extra thank you is extended to the kitchen help that worked the long day to prepare the delicious meal as well as cleaning up the kitchen at the end of the day.

The Koinonia’s and Brotherhood

The food for Crosslines is running about $250 to $275 a month in addition to the food we receive here.  If anyone would like to make a donation we have a place on the information table for you to contribute.  We thank everyone for any help you have given us in the past, and for your help now.  St. John's Chapel has worked with Crosslines since it first started over 25 years ago and we would like to continue doing so.
